My Meal Plan 7/12-7/17

I've decided I'm going to do a weekly post describing my meal plan for the week. I hope it gives you some yummy ideas.

I know I'm a little late this week since it's already Tuesday, I had a busy weekend. Starting next week I'll post the meal plan on Sundays.

Breakfasts

Our breakfasts are usually the same but we get variety in the fruit and vegetables. This way I'm able to use whatever I have on hand, what's in season, and what need used up before it goes bad.

For the adults: Two eggs from our backyard chickens and veggies. Whatever I have on hand but I especially like fried eggs with avocado and cilantro. Other days I make an egg scramble with leftover veggies.

For the kids: My son is allergic to eggs so he has bacon or sausage with fruit. My daughter usually has one egg and one sausage (or bacon strip) and fruit.

Lunches

For the adults: Salad with protein and lemon olive oil dressing. Whatever veggies I have on hand and usually leftover protein from dinner. If I don't have any leftovers then I will slice up nitrate free deli meat and use that.

For the kids: My kids don't like salads but they will eat cut up veggies with a dipping sauce like primal ranch dip. Served with whatever protein I am having.

Dinners

Tuesday: Ginger salmon cakes and garlic broccoli.

Wednesday: Coconut beef in the crock pot. This is a new recipe I've never tried before!

Thursday: Rockin Moroccan Chicken from the Everyday Paleo cookbook.

Friday: Meaty chipotle chili

Saturday: BBQ pork roast in the crock pot with lots of onions. I was going to use a bottle of Trader Joe's BBQ sauce but Mark's Daily Apple just posted a sauce recipe I might have to try.

Sunday: Grilled chicken and vegetables. Also a new recipe for me.

how hard is it having your own chickens?

  2. Keeping chickens isn't too hard. Its about as much work as any other pet. You have to feed and water them, collect the eggs and keep the coop clean.

Cleaning the coop is probably the biggest job but if you give them a nice large area to run around during the day than the coop doesn't get too gross.

  5. First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question that I'd
like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.
I've had difficulty clearing my mind in getting
my thoughts out. I truly do enjoy writing however it just
seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any
    suggestions or tips? Many thanks!
