3 Alternatives To Soda

I love to drink water but sometimes I find myself craving something different. Something with a little flavor- especially during these hot summer days. Here are 3 great alternatives to soda:

1. Iced Tea
This can be real tea or herbal tea. There is a huge variety of flavors to choose from. I personally like any tea with peach. Be sure the ingredients contain only real food and not "natural flavors".

2. Sparkling Water
Sparkling water gives you the bubbles that we crave from soda without all the sugar. Drink it plain or with a squeeze of lemon. Also try my Sugarless Italian Soda.

3. Kombucha
Kombucha has a wide array of health benefits. Cold and fizzy with beneficial probiotics. Buy it at the store or brew your own. I'm brewing my first batch right now!

Ahh.. Refreshing!

  1. I love kombucha, I would love to hear how it goes making your own. I am interested in trying that someday. Just not sure I am ready to take that on yet.

  2. My kombucha turned out great! I think I'll write a post about it sometime- after I've done it a few more times so I have some experience.

  3. thanks for all this great information on your site.
I am a lover of all things fresh & homemade.
I have been making kombucha for a while now , it is turning out excellent. Simply started with a bit of a mother from a bottle I purchased. I have used lots of different teas, when I bottle it, I add fresh ginger & about half a teaspoon of raw sugar to the bottles then just let them rest at room temp fro a week or so before I place them in the fridge.
just this week put in some dried apricots as well.
Hope you have great success !
Thanks again for all your sharing,
    Jules

  4. First off I would like to say superb blog! I had
a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints? Thank you!
